Fundraising Manager

Our team is looking for an impressive and creative writer to join us from 15th September until the end of November full-time. You will develop a series of engaging fundraising bids with our curatorial team. Working closely with Sensorium’s Directors and Curators, you will focus on how to compellingly tell the stories of Sensorium’s projects and partnerships, shaping strong narratives and arguments to secure fundraised support for our programme.

Required skills:

  • Excellent writer both in Slovak and English language (in special cases we would consider a non-Slovak speaker)
  • Experience in writing project proposals, applications and similar
  • Attention to details
  • Very well organised and working towards deadlines in a busy workload
  • Ability to conduct a self-coordinated research
  • Great personal and communication skills


  • Track record of previous successful grant writing experience
  • Ambition in perfecting writing and fundraising skills
  • Interest in art and technology

Your tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Writing of grant applications with assistance of festival’s director and curators
  • Conduct appropriate planning ahead of submitting an application
  • Follow up on application once submitted
  • Conducting research on funders and grant programmes
  • Develop and nurture relationships with funding organisations, embassies and cultural centres
  • Assist on liaison with potential and existing sponsors
  • Write and submit reports
  • Attend training and events as relevant

  • This role can help you become a brilliant fundraiser oriented in both local and foreign fundraising environments. You will learn the art of great bid-writing, develop a powerful network and be motivated by inspiring projects. There is potentially an opportunity to continue the role after spring 2019.
